WANG Sanyi is a professor in the Department of History, College of Liberal Arts at Shanghai University. He is also a researcher at the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University. He is the member of the Association of Modern History of the World in China and the Association of Ancient History of the World in China. His major research fields include Modern and Contemporary History of the World, History of the Rise and Fall of Empires, History of Middle East. He has published several books such asChallenges of Industrial Civilization and Transformation of Modern Economy in Middle East,Britain’s Mandatory Rule in Middle East and Research on the Late Ottoman Empire (1792-1918).

LIU Yi got his PhD from The Chinese University of Hong Kong(2008), and is now a Professor of History at Shanghai University. In the 2010-2011 academic year, he worked as a post-doctoral fellow at Georgetown’s Berkley Center for Religion, Peace and World Affairs. From 2013 to 2016, he acted as Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Böğaziçi University, Turkey. His research and teaching focus is on history of religion and comparative religion (Christianity & Islam), globalization, Turkey, and terrorism. He is the author ofReligion and Politics in a Global Context(Shanghai, 2011), andGlobalization, Public Religions and Secularism: A Comparative Study of Christianity and Islam(Shanghai, 2013). He is also co-editor ofAnnual Report on Turkey’s National Development.

YANG Chen is currently an assistant professor in the Center of Turkish Studies at Shanghai University. From 2013 to 2015, he worked as a visiting researcher at Asian Studies Center of Boğaziçi University. His research interests include Turkey’s Politics, Turkey’s Foreign Policy, Islamic Movement and China-Turkey Relations. His publications includeGuide to the World Nations: Turkey(Social Sciences Academic Press, China, 2015);Annual Report on Turkey’s National Development(Social Sciences Academic Press, China, 2015).
