Professor Antonio Zapata Velasco

Antonio Zapata Velasco,Distinguished Professor at the Center for Latin American Studies at Shanghai University and Doctor of Latin American History at Columbia University. He worked at the Universidad de San Marcos and Peruvian Catholic University, there responsible for teaching and research in Latin American Studies. He is also a senior researcher at the Peruvian Institute of Research (Instituto de Estudios Peruanos) and a researcher with reputation in Latin American modern history. He has conducted a number of research projects from the Peruvian Ministry of Education, the Peruvian Parliament, Stanford University, and the IEP. He has also written and published almost twenty books which includesLong Term Inequality: Historical Studies of Peru's Inequality, Uncertain World: Contemporary Global History, Thinking Right: The History of Intellectuals and Politicsand so on.

Dr. ZHANG Kun is an assistant professor in the Department of History and the Center for Latin American Studies of Shanghai University. He studied at Lanzhou University during 2004-2011, and got the PhD degree of world history from Shanghai University in 2015. With the fund of China Scholarship Council (CSC), he went to Latin American Institute of Humanities and Economics for a joint doctoral training program which lasted two years in Uruguay, and later studied and worked as a visiting scholar in the Argentine National Science and Technology Commission, University of Buenos Aires and the Catholic University of Peru. Now his research field includes the history of Catholicism in Latin America, the Latin American Left Movement and the history of Sino-Latin American relations during the Cold War. Being in charge of one national social science fund and three provincial and ministerial funds, he has published many articles both in Chinese and foreign academic journals.

Xia Tingting, assistant professorin the Department of History at Shanghai University. She gained bachelor’s degree of Spanish Philology from Beijing Language and Culture University, master degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain, anddoctor degree of History fromShanghai University. She won twice the Chinese government scholarships to study and do research in Cuba and Argentina. She publishedseveral articles on academic journals such asLatin American Jouranl,Cold War International History Studies,China Book Review. She translated three books from spanish to chinese.Her major research interests are Argentine History andIntelectualHistory of Latin America.

GU Yin is currently an assistant professor at School of Foreign Languages, Shanghai University. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Culture from Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2010. Now she is a PhD candidate in Hispanic American Literature at Complutense University of Madrid. Her Spanish-to-Chinese translation of the bookChina: an eye-witness account tales of a Colombian who witnessed the rise of the Asian giantwas published by China Intercontinental Press (January, 2017). Her research focuses on Latin American Literature.
