2018年10月31日至11月2日，我院来自哥斯达黎加的国际学生梅丽莎·罗德里格斯（Melissa Rodriguez）参加了由世界青年研究院（WYAcademy）在奥地利维也纳主办的国际安全政策峰会。该峰会针对年青专家采用学术研讨小组的形式，致力于提供对最有影响的国际组织在运行机制、挑战和战略等方面的沉浸式综合入门训练。得益于世界青年研究院的人际联络网，该峰会包括由世界上最重要的政策制定者、政策分析师和资深人士任教的高级讲习班。此外，与会人士也有机会获得学习国际安全政策领域运营和工作经验的机会。

在奥地利首都举行的本次国际安全政策峰会，三天的会议议程涵盖以下主要内容：

由国际安全政策领域最相关的行为主体如国际原子能机构（IAEA）、联合国毒品和犯罪问题办公室（UNODC）、国际安全科学论坛（the Scientific Forum for International Security）等机构所做的独家讲座。

以国际组织如欧洲安全与合作组织（OSCE）、国际原子能机构、联合国、奥地利欧洲和安全政策研究所（AIES）为研究对象的独家高级讲习课程。

梅丽莎从数百名申请者中胜出，并与来自15个国家的青年学术精英一道参加本次峰会研讨。在本次峰会与会青年学者中，梅丽莎既是唯一一名来自拉丁美洲的代表，也是唯一一名自亚洲而来的代表。

Melissa Rodriguez was chosen among hundreds of applicants because this program is particularly designed for a small group of young professionals with the aim of providing them an immersive and comprehensive introduction to the mechanisms, challenges, and strategies of the most influential international organizations. Thanks to the network of the WYAcademy, this summits counts with master classes with the most important policy-makers, analysts, and practitioners in the world. In addition, also you can have the opportunity to learn more about their operations and work on the field.

With the participation of young people from 15 countries, Melissa Rodriguez was the only one representing Latin America and the only one traveling from Asia. The Summit included: Exclusive lectures with the most relevant actors on International Security Policy. Exclusive master classes at these international organizations: Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), United Nations, and the Austrian Institute for European and Security Policy.

Three days full of information, experiences and communication in the capital city of Austria. That includes “Workshop on Making Security Policies and their impact”, Lecture by the International Atomic Energy Agency TBA. Conflicts and the Role of United Nations by Billy Batware. “Civil Society Participation in UNODC, Multilateral Decision-Making Processes” Billy Batware, UNODC. Master Class “Challenges for EU integration” by Mag. Dr. Gunther Hauser, President of the Scientific Forum for International Security and working for the State Defense Academy / Institute for Strategy & Security Policy. “Working around the conflict cycle and the crisis in Ukraine” among other interesting lectures.
