lDecember 10, 2008, Shanghai University of China and Boğaziçi University of Turkey signed a “Cooperation Agreement on Establishing Confucius Institute” at Boğaziçi University.

April 14, 2010, Li Changchun, the former member of the Standing Committee of Central Political Bureau of Chinese Communist Party, inaugurated the opening of Confucius Institute at Boğaziçi University.

October, 2011, Yin Yicui, the former Deputy Secretary of Shanghai Municipal Committee of the CPC and Li Youmei, Vice President of Shanghai University, visited Boğaziçi University and had friendly talks on establishing the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University.

April 2012, the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University was formally established.

March 24, 2013, Mr. Omer Celik, the former minister of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, held the unveiling ceremony of the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University.

January 3, 2014, Mr. Mustafa Noyan Rona, the chief representative of Turkish Garanti Bank at Shanghai Office, was appointed to be the Distinguished Professor at the center for Turkish Studies.

September 18, 2014, the Center for Turkish Studies held the press conference for the release of the first Blue Book of Turkey (2014).

October 29, 2014, the Center for Turkish Studies held the academic conference on “Turkey’s Economic and Social Development” with the joint efforts of Institute of West-Asian and African Studies, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

May 8, 2015, Yang Xiong, Mayor of Shanghai Municipality witnessed the signing of “Agreement on Jointly Building the Center for Turkish Studies” by Shanghai University and Boğaziçi University.

May 12, 2015, the Center for Turkish Studies and Turkish Consulate General in Shanghai jointly held the conference on “China-Turkey Relations within the Perspective of One Belt One Road”.

November 6, 2015, the Center for Turkish Studies and Confucius Institute at Boğaziçi University held the press conference for the release of the secondBlue Book of Turkey (2015)in Istanbul.

December 11, 2015, the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University, Center of West Asia & North Africa Studies at Shanghai Academy of Social Science, and Shanghai International Culture Association jointly organized the academic conference on“Current Situation of The Middle East and China-Turkey Relations” at Shanghai University.

September 2, 2016, the Center for Turkish Studies, Center of West Asia & North Africa Studies at Shanghai Academy of Social Science and The Middle East Studies Institute at SISU co-organized the conference on“Current Situation of Turkey and China-Turkey Relations”.

October 22 to 23, 2016, the Center for Turkish Studies and College of Liberal Arts co-organized the first national conference on “Turkey: History and Culture”.

December 26, 2016, the Delegation of Turkish Former Senior Military Officers visited the Center for Turkish Studies.

February 21, 2017, Mr.Sabri Tunç Angılı,the Consul General of Turkey at Shanghai, visited the Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai Univesity and reached a preliminary intention on bilateral deep cooperation.

March 24, 2017, theCenter for Turkish Studies, Daily Sabah Groupco-hosted the round-table conference on“New Era in China-Turkey Relations”.

May 30,2017, Abdullah Gül, the 11th President of Turkey (in office from 2007 to 2014), had a cordial meeting with members of Center for Turkish Studies at Shanghai University.

June 7-8,2017, Center for Global Studies, Center for Turkish Studies, and The Middle East Studies Institute at Shanghai International Studies Universityjointly organized the 3rd “China and the Middle East” Conference

September 30, 2017, Turkish media delegation, includingTürkiye Radyo Televizyon Kurumu,Hurriyet, Daily Sabah,Milliyet, and Doğan Haber Ajansı, visited the Center for Turkish Studies.

December 27, 2017, the Center for Turkish Studies hosted the Forum on “The Current Situation and One Belt One Road”.

March 24, 2018,“Opening Report of‘Turkey's domestic and foreign policies and OBOR strategy research’”, a Key Project of Philosophy and Social Sciences Research of Ministry of Education of China, was held at Shanghai University. This Conference also witnessed the unveiling ceremony of Center for Turkish Studies, a base of Ministry of Education Regional and Country Research.

March 28, 2018, Professor MEHMET ÖZDOĞAN, a famous Turkish archaeologist visited Shanghai University and deliver a lecture on The GÖBEKLİTEPE Culture of Southeastern Turkey.
